Lancers Open Season at Taylor

Upland, IN- The Grace College men started their season much improved over last year. For six of the eleven runners this was their first race over the five mile distance. Daniel Ng should a lot of promise finishing about 30 seconds behind Michael Jennys.

Though times are not official, the top five finished within less than 3 minutes of each other. Last season the number two runner was usually that far from Michael.

"For our first race, it was what I expected," said head coach Neal Butler. "Michael and Samuel Roth ran strong for our returners. A few of the freshmen ran really well, while others struggled. Once everyone adjusts to the longer distance and gets some experience, we should have a good year."

The men next compete at Indiana Intercollegiates on Friday, Sept. 19 at Indiana University in Bloomington. An open race is run at 3:30 p.m. and the varsity race for the top nine on the team is at 5:15 p.m.
