
Head coach Neal Butler
Neal Butler is beginning his fifth season as head coach
of the men's and women's Cross Country & Track & Field teams in 2007 after
spending five years at Asbury College. He led the Lancer men's team to a third
place finish in the Mid-Central Conference in 2003 and a fifth place finish in
both the NAIA Regionals and the NCCAA National Championships.
Butler
was named NAIA Region XII Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2000, 2001
and 2002 and was named KIAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2000 and
2001.
Prior to his time at Asbury, Butler worked as a volunteer assistant
coach at Morehead State University and as head coach at Riverside High School
in Lost Creek, KY and at Lakeview Christian School in Marion, IN. He has also
been a volunteer assistant coach at Indiana Wesleyan and Asbury.
Butler
received degrees from Kentucky Mountain Bible College in 1984 and from Asbury
in 1989. He received his master's degree in 1997 from Morehead State.
Butler works at Grace as the assistant facilities coordinator for the Robert and
Frances Gordon Student Recreation Center, which opened in the fall of 2003. He
is married to Rebecca.
