Named for Warsaw and Winona Lake, Indiana—the "Orthopædic Capital of the World"—and sponsored by the world's leading manufacturers of orthopædic equipment, the Orthopædic Capital Center at Grace College is a 56,000-square-foot facility for major events that is unequaled in the region. The Center is designed

• to strengthen the partnership between Grace and the community at large

History

The Orthopædic Capital Center at Grace College arose out of a meeting between the chief executive officers of Biomet, Inc.; DePuy Orthopædics, Inc.; and Zimmer, Inc.; and Dr. Ron Manahan, president of Grace College & Seminary, to discuss the possibility of establishing a major event center that would benefit the Warsaw–Winona Lake community. Since then, they have been joined by the chief executive officers of Paragon Medical, Inc., and Symmetry Medical, Inc. These companies have given not only their leadership to the project, they have also contributed $3.25 million toward the Center's $9.1-million cost.

 

Features

Conveniently located near the Grace campus, the Center will serve the needs of community, business, and College alike, providing space for a wide variety of functions involving large numbers of participants. Among its offerings:

a 15,000-square-foot convention and exhibition center a 2,700-seat theater arena-style seating for 2,100 for athletic events seating for 2,500 for concerts and special events, as well as business seminars catering capabilities suitable and adequate parking a civic building that promotes a sense of community pride

The Center dramatically increases the amount of space available to Warsaw and Winona Lake for cultural and civic events by giving them a venue larger than any other available locally. It also enhances the business environment by providing a facility that can be used by both new and established companies for functions involving a large number of attendees.
