Named for Warsaw and Winona Lake, Indiana—the "Orthopædic Capital of the World"—and sponsored by the world's leading manufacturers of orthopædic equipment, the Orthopædic Capital Center at Grace College is a 56,000-square-foot facility for major events that is unequaled in the region. The Center is designed
- to provide an important cultural centerpiece for Warsaw and Winona Lake
- to provide a valuable resource for the business community
- to serve the needs of Grace and its students
- to strengthen the partnership between Grace and the community at large
History
The Orthopædic Capital Center at Grace College arose out of a meeting between the chief executive officers of Biomet, Inc.; DePuy Orthopædics, Inc.; and Zimmer, Inc.; and Dr. Ron Manahan, president of Grace College & Seminary, to discuss the possibility of establishing a major event center that would benefit the Warsaw–Winona Lake community. Since then, they have been joined by the chief executive officers of Paragon Medical, Inc., and Symmetry Medical, Inc. These companies have given not only their leadership to the project, they have also contributed $3.25 million toward the Center's $9.1-million cost.
