Doctor of Missiology

The Doctor of Missiology degree is an advanced professional degree program designed for the continuing development of those involved in intercultural ministry. This program is designed to enhance professional competence by expanding upon an initial foundation of theological studies and ministry experience, to enable those in vocational ministry to enhance current strengths, address areas of weakness, and increase overall effectiveness. Courses are taught in a week long modular format with requirements for both pre-course and post-course work.


Admissions Requirements

In order to be considered for enrollment in the Doctor of Missiology program at Grace Theological Seminary, you must fulfill certain admission requirements. Below is a list of the requirements.

  • An applicant must have obtained a Master of Divinity degree or its equivalent* from an approved institution as determined by the D.Miss. Committee.

*In general, M.Div. equivalency includes: A bachelor’s degree in Bible, theology, or Christian ministry, training in one of the biblical languages, and 60 credit hours of graduate theological training.

Or

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in something other than Bible, theology, or Christian ministry, Training in one of the biblical languages, and 78 credit hours of graduate theological training.
  • A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4-point scale) in the applicant’s previous academic work is required. A limited number of students may be admitted under academic restriction by action of the D.Miss. Committee, but they must maintain the grade point average required for candidacy (3.0) to continue in the program.
  • The applicant must currently be serving in a vocational ministry, having completed at least four years in full-time professional ministry since completing the M.Div. or its equivalent. Exceptions to this policy will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the D.Miss. Committee.
