The School of Ministry Studies consists of the undergraduate and graduate Department of Biblical Studies and Grace Theological Seminary, which offers degrees in ministry and theology.
The School of Ministry Studies is dedicated to embracing a dynamic spiritual commitment and to engaging thoughtfully with the world around us.
The School seeks to help students become world-changers, enhancing God's kingdom and building Christ's church. Recognizing the Bible as the authoritative Word of God, the goal of the School is to study it with passion and precision, and to help students prepare for effective ministries.
The School of Ministry Studies began offering four undergraduate majors and one graduate degree in its Department of Biblical Studies: Bible, Biblical Studies, Intercultural Studies, and Youth Ministry Studies and the Master of Arts in Ministry Studies. The Master of Arts in Ministry Studies is a first professional degree designed to train existing leaders and those desiring to lead in support roles in the local church. Grace College and Seminary is committed to the Master of Divinity degree as the normative degree for senior pastor or lead pastor positions in the local church.
Graduate degree programs are offered at Grace Theological Seminary, which also is a part of the School of Ministry Studies. Grace Theological Seminary offers certificate programs in Biblical Studies and Intercultural Studies, as well as a Diploma in Theology and a Diploma in Intercultural Studies. The seminary offers its Master of Divinity degree program in four specializations (Exegetical Studies, Pastoral Studies, Counseling, and Intercultural Studies), five Master of Arts degrees (Theological Studies, Exegetical Studies, Intercultural Studies, Camp Administration, and Local Church Studies), and the Doctor of Ministry degree. The Doctor of Ministry program is offered in two tracks: pastoral studies and intercultural studies.
The certificate programs in the Seminary in Biblical Studies and Intercultural Studies are offered in an innovative program that blends short on-campus classes with online studies so busy professionals can work on these programs without relocating. Grace is presently seeking approval to offer the Master of Arts in Ministry Studies completely online through the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Accrediting Association. Approval is anticipated sometime this summer.
The M.A. in Intercultural Studies, the Doctor of Ministry in either Pastoral Studies or Intercultural Studies, and the Doctor of Missiology degrees are offered through Grace Theological Seminary’s Center for Korean Studies.
