This course will survey the role of managers in organization: planning, organizing, leading and controlling. We will explore leadership styles and techniques, preparing students to solve problems and apply effective decision- making processes in their environments.
Students study the basic legal principles which control modern business transactions. Additionally, the course deals with such topics as contracts, agencies, employment, negotiable instruments, property, sales and business relations with government.
Students advance their skill and confidence in using the workbook, database and output capabilities of Microsoft Excel. Focus is on understanding the advanced features of Excel and key issues of design and advanced output capabilites of spreadsheet programs.

Professor Tim Ziebarth is a 1993 graduate of Grace College, where he majored in business administration and psychology and minored in communications. After graduating from Grace College, he spent a year working in city government as the assistant city planner, then joined the 1st Source Bank headquarter out of South Bend, Indiana. His banking experience includes the role of mortgage loan officer, branch manager, and small business loan officer. He returned to campus in 2002 as the director of alumni services in the Grace Alumni Office. In May 2009, he was named the Director of the William P. Gordon Institute for Enterprise Development, and is currently serving as the Dean of Online Education. He has taught in undergraduate students in Grace's School of Business and currently teaches for the School of Adult and Community Education.

Larry provides leader development and marketing strategies for Ambassador Enterprises and The Summit in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Previously, Larry served as Professor of Marketing and MBA Chair at Taylor University. Larry also served at Anderson University, Ball State University, the University of Arkansas, and Dallas Baptist University, where he was Dean of the College of Business and Graduate School of Business. Larry’s business experience includes launching a marketing and research firm, developing internet-based marketing courses, designing program curriculum, marketing strategy consulting, and sales and leader coaching. Larry has over 30 years experience in marketing, business development, consulting and higher education. Larry received his B.S. in Business Administration from Taylor University, his MBA from Ball State University, and his Ph.D. in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Arkansas. Larry and his wife Nancy have been married for 35 years and have two grown children, David and Lindsay.

Zach journey began with Ambassador Enterprises in January 2008. Zach currently co-leads The Summit campus in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Prior to The Summit, he has served Ambassador in various roles and positions of leadership. Most recently Zach served a dual role as Ambassador’s Financial Controller, overseeing and accounting for assets in excess of $200 million, and as Director of IT for three years. He has worked in various management positions in the automotive and oil industry, gaining experience in retail and wholesale operations. Previously, he worked for six years at Master Petroleum Products and Northern Quik Lube Group, where he served as manager in administration, accounting, and business operations. Zach’s background consists of accounting, technology, marketing, legal, and support services. Zach graduated from Grace College summa cum laude with a B.S. in Business Management. Currently, Zach serves on the Get R.E.A.L. Marriage Ministry leadership team and is a Board Member of Remedy Live in Fort Wayne. Zach and his wife Carleen were married in 2010.
