Get a jump start on college!
If you are a high school junior or senior and your high school GPA is at least 3.0, you may take a total of 12 credit hours as a Jump Start student at Grace College. Juniors may take three credit hours per semester; seniors may take up to six credit hours per semester. Jump Start registrations are subject to approval by the Registrar. To go beyond a total of 12 credit hours, a student must make full application with the Admissions Office, be accepted, and pay the $200 admissions deposit.
The Jump Start program can help you to earn dual credit for high school and college, earn accredited transferable college credit, and take advanced courses that are not offered at high school level.
A listing of courses available through the Jump Start program is shown further down on this Web page. To find dates and times when specific courses are being offered, click here.
If you have any questions about this program, you may contact the Jump Start Coordinator, Jason Elliott at 1-800-54-GRACE, ext 6005, or at elliotja@grace.edu. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Application Procedures for First-time Jump Start Students
- Complete and submit the online application.
- Alternatively, you may submit a paper application. Click here for a printable application, fill it out, and submit it by mail or fax to the Grace College Admissions Office.
- Please note: Whether you apply online or use a paper application, three additional forms must be provided before your application is complete.
- Class Registration Form: You will need to fill in the class(es) you plan to take during the semester and send to the Grace College Admissions Office. This form requires your signature and the signature of your high school principal, guidance counselor, or your home school parent.
- High School Transcripts Request Form: Complete the top portion and give it to your guidance counselor. He or she will complete the remainder of the form and mail it, along with a copy of your official high school transcripts, directly to the Grace College Admissions Office.
- Spiritual Life Reference Form: You will need to complete the top portion and then give this form to your pastor or youth pastor or someone else in your church who is a teacher or spiritual mentor (not a relative, however). This person will complete the Spiritual Life Reference reference and send it directly to the Grace College Admissions Office.
