Grace College and Theological Seminary: A private college in Indiana

Our Story

Grace College and Grace Theological Seminary both have a rich history as partners in higher education.

After its establishment in 1937, Grace Theological Seminary quickly became one of the world’s premier seminaries for master’s through doctoral level study in evangelical ministry and theology. Likewise, Grace College, which opened on the same campus in 1948, has grown to its current position of academic prominence, offering more than 50 fields of study in the arts and sciences, music, and ministry.

The quality of the Grace educational experience is summed up in the Mission Statements of both the college and seminary.

The Mission of Grace College: Grace College is an evangelical Christian community of higher education which applies biblical values in strengthening character, sharpening competence, and preparing for service.

The Mission of Grace Theological Seminary: Grace theological Seminary is a learning community dedicated to teaching, training, and transforming the whole person for local church and global ministry. The seminary’s long-held core values still empower its curriculum and ministry service: biblically rooted, culturally sensitive, ministry focused, academically excellent, and spiritually transforming.

Over the years, thousands of Grace Theological Seminary graduates have gone out to preach the gospel and lead Christian ministry organizations throughout the U.S. and on every continent of the world. Scores of thousands of Grace College graduates have formed their worldviews, studied in a challenging academic atmosphere, and have matured as Christians on the Grace College campus before graduating and going out to achieve success in careers, family life, and local church leadership.

Our story is one that recognizes that intellectual development is not the only objective for undergraduate and graduate studies. The Grace faculty and staff, the design and content of the Grace curriculum, and the entire Grace campus community work together to provide for the student an atmosphere of ever-maturing spiritual life and understanding of the Lord and Savior.

Today, Grace offers it unique educational experience through four schools, the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Ministry Studies, the School of Music, and the School of Adult and Community Education. Degree programs include more than 50 fields of undergraduate studies, plus graduate degrees in ministry in the seminary, and graduate degrees in counseling, interpersonal relations, and education in the college. In 2008, Grace began offering unique cohort-based graduate degree programs in ministry and education online.
